How does one come up with 40,320 to 1. Well there are 8 different dogs that can run 1st that leaves 7 different dogs that can run 2nd, 6 different dogs that can run 3rd, 5 different dogs that can run 4th , 4 different dogs that can run 5th, 3 different dogs that can run 6th, 2 different dogs that can run 7th and 1 that can run 8th. So you mulitply 8 x 7 X 6 X 5 4 x 3 x 2 x 1 which equals 40,320 to 1 odds.
